It was the Euro Asia press that QUIK spoke to.

In Asia Alibaba is not just theory and PEEL is something the OEMs will be moving to.
ie what QUIK had to say is something they were interested in, not a yawn.

QuickLogic joins with Peel to put IR into CSSPs

Generic smartphoneQuickLogic has got together with Peel to put IR technology into smartphones to allow them to work as TV remote controls and home automation controllers.
Peel’s head of business development, Yong Tian, toldElectronics Weekly that the technology consolidates all the remote controls in your house into a single controller on your phone.
In addition, said Tian, it allows you to control home automation functions like garden sprinklers, heating and cooling, security and surveillance from anywhere in the world.
Tia said that Peel’s technology is installed in the phones ofSamsung, HTC, ZTE and Alcatel and has 90 million users in 200 countries.
The technology tracks the TV programmes users watch and, based on that, recommends programmes they might like to see.
QuickLogic will incorporate Peel’s technology into its ArcticLink 3 S2 sensor hub which gives mobile device OEMs a pre-verified single-chip solution with the driver software.
“What sets us apart is that we are a programmable logic company and can work with any silicon,” says QuickLogic CEO Andy Pease, “we can put additional functions on the sensor hub.”
