Wang who worked with Xiaomi on the first Mi Band, is also working on building the next Mi Band and a smartwatch. Both devices are expected to be announced in the next two months.The upcoming Mi Band is expected to sport a small display, which is a first for the company in its wearables line up. Wang states that the new smartwatch will work towards reducing its dependability on a smartphone to display information which is why there’s a display.Indeed, the addition of a display will bring up the price of the wearable. The new device is expected to be slightly costlier than the previous model. Another bit of information is to do with the branding of the wearable. Xiaomi is expected to drop the “Mi” branding from the name and the new wearable is expected to be called the Band 2.Apart from the above no other details have been revealed.
