Job description
Responsible for sensor device support engineering with respect to testing methods, procedures, device specification, component selection and supplier management. Influences architecture definition for product differentiation, cost reduction and/or performance improvements. Will also influence decision makers in a matrixed environment across business units. Aligns suppliers to Intel long term roadmap. Responsible for device across product life cycle. Plans and schedules daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment based on standard practices. Ability to work independently. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
-Solid understanding of PC and mobile device architecture, along with sensor component applications.
-Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering or sciences branch
-Minimum of 6 years industry experience, Masters 4 years, or PhD 2 years in light sensors, IR sensors, fingerprint sensors, bio-authentication sensors and/or other sensor applications/design within mobile/wearable platforms.
Kind of a very odd group of sensors, not the ones most would pick.
-Sensor fusion algorithms experience relevant to mobile/wearable systems a plus
-Experience integrating sensors into consumer electronics devices, including firmware and software integration is a plus
-Experience managing 3rd party suppliers is a plus.

- Working to define and create collateral for new "wearable" platforms and devices (HW concept study, Hardware Architecture, Schematic design, PCB layout, SI simulation, initial board bring up and test, including driver bring up)
- Document hardware design spec and board level test/validation strategy
- System integration and debug (Including SW, FW and HW)

Qualifications
QualificationsPossess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 2-4 years in HW engineering for consumer electronics
- Strong technical understanding of software, firmware, and hardware interaction up to the OS level
- Understanding consumer electronics development processes and methodologies throughout the project life cycle
- Work in lab environment with hardware and software experts to root-cause difficult system-level issues and provide recommendations to the team for resolution.
- Knowledge of mobile devices and/or low-power platforms and the related architectural tradeoffs
- Experience with Allegro and Cadence design tools
- Experience with schematics capture, printed circuit board layout, SI simulation, and lab equipment's.
- Working knowledge of Android OS internal operations
Industry experience in one or more of the following:
- Battery technology, power systems, and power supply
- Sensors and displays for wearable type products / consumer electronics
- Board design and bring up, PCB manufacturing.
General:
- Proven customer management and communications skills
- Excellent communication, time management, technical writing and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to apply critical thinking
- Ability to work independently, proactive, multitask effectively, and exhibit strong influencing and leadership skills with a strong customer orientation
