As we move closer to the Eos availability I wanted to reread the cc transcript….This snip was interesting…verrry interesting? And I will actually give a plug for the fact that we have this nice integrated development environment now that software people are accustomed to. They can actually enable third-party algorithm folks to deploy their algorithms on our platform and we do see activities in this area. So, it’s a long way of saying that we are pushing in all those areas. The end product may be some combination of us and third-parties to do that, particularly in some of these highly specialized areas. So I put this here. I had thought mostly of QUIK algos, of those who have in house teams, but there are highly specialiZed third party folks, and Valencell is who I will use as a mental model who are using the IDE to put their specialized expertiseonto the EOS…..This is nice. It may give more reading material than I had expected…...
Valencell CEO snip…TWICE: Has there been any thought to Valencell moving beyond components to market its own branded consumer products?LeBoeuf: Folks who've tried to develop both biometric sensor innovations and consumer products have routinely failed. Valencell's business model is to develop and license accurate, clinically-validated, effective, and affordable wearable biometric sensor technology that can be used in a variety of consumer products and form-factors. This means that Valencell will continue to focus on technology development rather than product manufacturing, consumer marketing, and retail sales.QUIK, doing well enough in wearables(?) + the above snip means Valencell would make sure its specialized algos would be set to go with the Eos.So consider Valencell will deploy their specialized health algos ( that Apple stole ?) on the Eos. Valencell, or Phillips or something just like this……Hey QUIK, I need reading material. I have just about run out! Thanks in advance.
http://www.valencell.com/patents.“Valencell is passionate about continuing to drive further innovation in biometric wearables and hearables. If it were not for Valencell's innovations in wearable biometric sensor technology, consumers could not enjoy accurate heart rate and breathing rate monitoring at the wrist, arm, and ear during exercise. With many innovative successes behind us, we are continuing to invent the future in wearable biometrics,” said Dr. Steven LeBoeuf, President and Co-founder of Valencell. “These new patents further expand our ability to provide our partners with the most accurate and flexible biometric sensor technology in the world, enabling them to deliver wearables of all shapes and sizes with the accuracy needed to deliver a compelling consumer experience.”The five patents granted include:•U.S. Pat. No. 9289135 – Physiological monitoring methods and apparatus•U.S. Pat. No. 9289175 – Light-guiding devices and monitoring devices incorporating same•U.S. Pat. No. 9301696 – Earbud covers•U.S. Pat. No. 9314167 – Methods for generating data output containing physiological and motion-related information•European Pat. No. 2094152 – Telemetric Apparatus for Health and Environmental MonitoringValencell PerformTek sensor systems are the most accurate, robust and flexible technology available today, powering more biometric wearables on the market today than any other company. Valencell gives wearable devices the ability to continuously and accurately measure blood flow signals even during extreme physical activity or when the optical signals are weak. These signals can be translated into biometric data, including continuous heart rate, VO2 and VO2 max, resting heart rate, heart rate response, heart rate recovery, continuous energy expenditure (calorie burn), cardiac efficiency and heart rate variability assessments. The accuracy and scalability of Valencell’s technology is what makes it stand out from other options and enables the data to be applicable to health assessments.Valencell licenses its biometric sensor technology to enable customers to create custom-designed biometric wearable devices. Valencell also recently introduced a turn-key biometric sensor system with the complete PerformTek technology package ready for immediate integration into wrist and arm wearable devices. Valencell’s PerformTek technology is the choice of popular consumer electronics brands, including Sony, LG, Intel/SMS Audio, Jabra, Scosche, Atlas Wearables, Caeden, Clip&Talk, Kuaiwear, Bioconnected, and iriver among numerous others. PerformTek is the only technology available that continuously measures heart rate, VO2, calories burned, cadence and much more with unmatched, scientifically-validated accuracy. To learn more about licensing PerformTek, visithttp://valencell.com/licensing. Quiks algo team could NEVER duplicate this specialized sort of health stuff. I was wondering how they could cover this and that snip I had missed in the CC may well be the BESTanswer of ALL?Thanks in advance for any thoughts. What did I learn?1. That that IDE is worth making really, really nice for people like Valencell to get their "compelling user experience" ( that phrase again) onto the Eos. The IDE is NOT just for Tier 1/2s, it is also for 3rd party people!2. It pays to reread over and over as you see different things every time.3. The right third party putting their algo IP onto the Eos could be HUGE, just really really good.QUIK can you get the IDE- Integrated Development environment to Valencell ASAP?You probably already did months ago…..nice
I'm happy with the time I put in today. Why?I got a nugget.this snip I had missed- from fatigue most likely…third-party algorithm folks to deploy their algorithms on our platform and we do see activities in this areaFor the casual reader. Looking back SPI is a fine example of a third party algo company.Biometrics has very specialized algos, and Valencell, like Sensory, has TOP Notch stuff. They are a third party algo group of folks. Conclusion, QUIK is doing well enough that some third party algo companies are using the IDE to get their really good IP on the Eos.It may well be these guys, or someone just about like them…..Quik used the plural, so its more than one-maybe a location player?
a repost from this thread Feb….I think we have ecosystem partners we are unaware of at this time, but maybe one of the many news items of these net wks/months will shed some light.EIther Valencel or Phipips would be nice for health/ medicine.A lot to track now and that keeps one from perseverating on just any one item, and when its going to happenThere is really good stuff ( IP ) getting tweaked for the Eos…...
