    Samsung Smart wearables

Shortly after it stopped by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Gear Fit 2 Pro has been officially confirmed. The moniker has been spotted on the South Korean company's official website, along with the model number SM-R365.

Nothing much is known about the wearable at the moment, except that it's likely to have a design similar to the standard Gear Fit 2 and could feature improved step-tracking accuracy. It's said to be made official around the same time as the Galaxy Note8.

Meanwhile, in a separate but related news, a new Samsung wearable dubbed Gear Sport has been cleared by the FCC. The device carries a model number of SM-R600 and capable of monitoring heart rate.

    • Samsung could unveil a Gear Fit Pro 2 alongside the Note 8
Samsung could unveil a Gear Fit Pro 2 alongside the Note 8

    Wearables on the way

All eyes are on the next super-sized smartphone that Samsung's planning to unveil, but we may well see a new fitness tracker device alongside it later this month - reference to an as-yet-unannounced device called the Gear Fit Pro 2 has appeared on Samsung's website.

A successor to the Gear Fit 2 then? The addition of a "Pro" label rather than an extra number suggests this is going to be a minor upgrade rather than a major overhaul, though there should be some bells and whistles to attract buyers. Samsung's naming schemes for its wearables haven't often made sense and it's obviously not going to start now.

The reference, on a blank support page, was spotted by SamMobile, but that's about all we know about what's coming. There's a good chance the wearable could launch alongside the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23, or maybe at the IFA event at the start of September.

    Fitness first
This looks to be different to the new Samsung Gear smartwatch that's also in the pipeline, basically a Gear S3 with some extra fitness features. This one is going to be more fitness tracker and less smartwatch, like the Gear Fit 2 it's supposedly replacing.

Samsung registered a "Gear Fit Pro" trademark back at the start of the yearthough details of what it might entail have been thin on the ground since. We've also heard rumors that Samsung is planning to create a device that fuses the ideas of a smartwatch and a fitness tracker together, whatever that means.

Not much in the way of specs or price then, but don't be surprised if we see one or two wearables appear from Samsung in the next few weeks, catering to the serious athletes out there. On top of that we're still waiting for the Gear S4 too.

Gear Fit 2 Pro spotted in a support page on Samsung’s website
    JOSH L. / 3 DAYS AGO
The long-rumored Gear Fit 2 Pro (SM-R365) has surfaced on a blank support page on Samsung’s website. This news comes shortly after the unit was spotted passing through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), leading us to believe that it could hit the shelves at the same time as the Galaxy Note 8.

Gear Fit 2 review: A worthy upgrade over the Gear Fit

We don’t know a great deal about the Gear Fit 2 Pro. If the sketch included in the documentation that was handed over to the FCC is anything to go by, it’ll have a similar design to the standard Gear Fit 2, though it should come with a number new sensors for improved step-tracking improved accuracy.

Related: Samsung’s upcoming fitness tracker passes through FCC

Earlier today, we reported that another Gear-branded wearable had appeared on the FCC’s online database. The unit, which has been dubbed the Gear Sport, is expected to be announced at IFA in September, so it’s also feasible that the Gear Fit 2 Pro will be unveiled during the same event.

This sort of incremental leaking is business as its done, it has happened just like this.

    What to expect next?

A photo gets spotted, the web page gets filled in.

    Any incremental info?

Somehow they expect much improved step counting.

My opinion is my own, but use this continuing incremental dots to make your own time frames....
have fun is the most important thing ;-).......

This snip is a common one from the GEEK sites

The fact the Gear Fit2 Pro name is already up on its own website suggests we are not far away from an official unveiling.
