Samsung announced recently that it would discontinue its Video-on-Demand service outside the US and South Korea at the end of this year.  On some Samsung phones the service carries the same name as Peel’s smart remote app, WatchON.  Some members of the media confused the two apps following the announcement.  We wanted to clarify that Samsung’s decision regarding the Video-on-Demand service has absolutely no impact on the WatchON smart remote app on the Galaxy S4 or the Smart Remote app on the Galaxy S5.  We would also like to emphasize that there is no interruption in the successful Samsung and Peel partnership to provide the best smart remote and personalized TV Guide services to customers owning the hundreds of millions of phones with the app preloaded.
